About the play

A heavy night out with Giulietta, a young woman on the loose, has seriously comical consequences for Felice, who has recently married Clementina, an ageing churchy widow given to nightly visions. In fact, Felice Brings home much more than he bargained for, after Giulietta wakes up in his bed: first she dupes Felice’s wife, and then goes on to take her place at a forthcoming party to celebrate the engagement of her former lover to Felice’s own cousin. Many a humorous moment follow as Felice is forced to use all his cunning to avoid a duel, and keep his rich uncle and his other acquaintances in this illusion while he walks a tightrope so that his wife won’t find out about Giulietta. In true style, Eduardo Scarpetta’s farce is full of unexpected turns, bewildering for the characters and very amusing for the audience.
